  1. used for saying that something is possible可能;也许“Where's William? “He might be upstairs.“威廉在哪儿?”“他可能在楼上。”We might be going to Spain on vacation this year.我们今年可能去西班牙度假。She might not come if she's very busy.如果她很忙,也许就不来了。If I had known the movie was about dinosaurs, I might have gone to see it (= but I didn't know, so I didn't go).我要是早知道这电影是关于恐龙的,可能就去看了。
  1. used as the past form of may when you report what someone has said(间接引语中用作 may 的过去式)He said he might be late (= his words were, “I may be late”).他说他也许会迟到。
