范文 | 英文读后感(共7篇) 《傲慢与偏见》 many people simply regard pride and prejudice as a love story, but in my opinion, this book is an illustration of the society at that time. she perfectly reflected the relation between money and marriage at her time and gave the people in her works vivid characters. the characters have their own personalities. mrs. bennet is a woman who makes great efforts to marry off her daughters. mr. bingley is a friendly young man, but his friend, mr. darcy, is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. even the five daughters in bennet family are very different. jane is simple, innocent and never speaks evil of others. elizabeth is a clever girl who always has her own opinion. mary likes reading classic books. (actually she is a pedant.) kitty doesn’t have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, lydia. lydia is a girl who follows exotic things, handsome man, and is somehow a little profligate. when i read the book, i can always find the same personalities in the society now. that is why i think this book is indeed the representative of the society in britain in the 18th century. the family of gentleman in the countryside is jane austen’s favourite topic. but this little topic can reflect big problems. it concludes the stratum situation and economic relationships in britain in her century. you can find these from the very beginning of this book. the first sentence in this book is impressive. it reads: “it is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”. the undertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession. people always think that austen was an expert at telling love stories. in fact, the marriage in her book is not the result of love, but the result of economic needs. after reading this book, i know the truth is that a poor woman must be in need of a husband, a wealthy man. i couldn’t forget how eager mrs. bennet wants to marry off her daughters. if you want to know why she is so crazy about these things, i must mention the situation in britain at that time. only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father’s possessions. younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in possession of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. thus, we can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier, particularly for women without many possessions. jane austen told us that money and possession determined everything, including marriage and love in her century. in “pride and prejudice”, the sister of mr. bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying jane because the bennets don’t have many possessions and their social positions are much lower than them. from this, we can see there are a lot of obstacles for a not very rich woman to marry a wealthy husband. the society, the relatives would not allow them to get married. in modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people’s mind. a lot of parents try hard to interfere their children’s marriages. education background, possessions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage. marry for money is still a big problem in our society. we can’t help thinking: can money determine everything? austen left this problem for us to think. the genius of jane austen lies in this perfect simplicity, the simplicity that reflects big problems. although austen was only 21 when she wrote “pride and prejudice”, her sharp observation of social lives makes the style of this book surprisingly mature and lively. the plots in her works are always very natural. the development of the plot is as inevitable as a problem in mathematics. i think the depth of pride and prejudice is the reason that makes this book prominent and classic. today, her book still can be the guide telling us the economic relationships both at her time and in modern time. Published in 1847, WUtheRING HEIGHTS was not well received by the reading public, many of whom condemned it as sordid, vulgar, and unnatural--and author Emily Bronte went to her grave in 1848 believing that her only novel was a failure. It was not until 1850, when WUTHERING HEIGHTS received a second printing with an introduction by Emily's sister Charlotte, that it attracted a wide readership. And from that point the reputation of the book has never looked back. Today it is widely recognized as one of the GREat novels of English literature. Even so, WUtheRING HEIGHTS continues to divide readers. It is not a pretty love story; rather, it is swirling tale of largely unlikeable people caught up in obsessive love that turns to dark madness. It is cruel, violent, dark and brooding, and many people find it extremely unpleasant. And yet--it possesses a grandeur of language and design, a sense of tremendous pity and GREat loss that sets it apart from virtually every other novel written. the novel is told in the form of an extended FLASHback. After a visit to his strange landlord, a newcomer to the area desires to know the history of the family--which he receives from Nelly Deans, a servant who introduces us to the Earnshaw family who once resided in the house known as Wuthering Heights. It was once a cheerful place, but Old Earnshaw adopted a "Gipsy" child who he named Heathcliff. And Catherine, daughter of the house, found in him the perfect companion: wild, rude, and as proud and cruel as she. But although Catherine loves him, even recognizes him as her soulmate, she cannot lower herself to marry so far below her social station. She instead marries another, and in so doing sets in motion an obsession that will destroy them all. WUtheRING HEIGHTS is a bit difficult to "get into;" the opening chapters are so dark in their portrait of the end result of this obsessive love that they are somewhat off-putting. But they feed into the flow of the work in a remarkable way, setting the stage for one of the most remarkable structures in all of literature, a story that circles upon itself in a series of repetitions as it plays out across two generations. Catherine and Heathcliff are equally remarkable, both vicious and cruel, and yet never able to shed their impossible love no matter how brutally one may wound the other. As the novel coils further into alcoholism, seduction, and one of the most elaborately imagined plans of revenge it gathers into a ghostly tone: Heathcliff, driven to madness by a woman who is not there but who seems reflected in every part of his world--dragging her corpse from the grave, hearing her calling to him from the moors, escalating his brutality not for the sake of brutality but so that her memory will never fade, so that she may never leave his mind until death itself. Yes, this is madness, insanity, and there is no peace this side of the grave or even beyond. It is a stunning novel, frightening, inexorable, unsettling, filled with unbridled passion that makes one cringe. Even if you do not like it, you should read it at least once--and those who do like it will return to it again and again 《圣女贞德》英文读后感 英文读后感(3) | 返回目录 Learn to Live ——my thoughts after reading Joan of Arc Sunshine shines over the statue in Orleans. The ordinary but famous girl named Joan is riding on her horse, smiling and looking down at the land that she has loved and fought on. She is the heroine of France, the saint from heaven. Her influences shine over every person’s heart, and I am deeply impressed by her story. When Louis XIII was the king, the British and the Burundians invaded France and wanted to have the northern part of France. Joan helped French people coronate their new king, Louis XIV, getting almost all the invaded land back with the help of three saints. But after that, she was caught by the Burundians and was burnt on a cross by her enemy. This is the famous story about Joan, the saint. From a village girl to a national heroine, she only used a few years. How could Joan of Arc do that? I wonder. Someone says the saints have chosen her and the God has given her power. But actually the real virgin doesn’t exist, From the birth of Jesus Christ in the first century, people have controlled the Christianity. I think the religion has become a tool between people. This kind of opinion about the success of Joan must be wrong. Someone said, Joan had this wonderful success because of her confidence and will. I quite agree with this opinion. Because there aren’t any virgins in the world, so I think the appearance of the saints was only in Joan’s mind, actually nothing special happened to Joan. I think the things which really mattered were Joan’s thoughts. In my opinion, Joan must have some military ability to lead the whole army, because of her unusual image, Joan became more confident to the success. It let Joan had the will to be successful. So the success before did not happen by accident,. After some battles, Joan said that she had lost her support from the saints, but actually this didn’t mind. The more important thing was that she had lost her confidence and will, so she lost the battle at last. So I think confidence and will are just like the foundation of success. All the success depends on them. In the real world, confidence and will is always very important. During the Athens Olympic Games, Li Ting and Sun Tiantian have won the gold medal for the women’s double in the tennis game. It was the first time our anthem playing on the tennis court. Some medium says that they have won by chance. It was only a fairy tale. But I don’t think so. Actually they have won because of their believing in themselves, because they have confidence and will, so they have created a fairy tale in Greece. Their confidence and will have made the success, not by accident. In our daily life, we must have confidence and will as well. Before the test we need to be confident to our actual strength or we’ll not give full play to our initiative. We need to be confident when we are speaking in public or others will not remember you among all the speakers. We need to have will in studying or we’ll not learn things solidly. We need to have will in our daily life or we’ll give up the things we are doing now. If we have confidence and will in our daily life, then I believe you’ll live brighter. In this story, I also have some other opinions about some other scenes. For instance, I don’t like the way the saints treated Joan when Joan forgot the birthday of Virgin Mary. I think they have to give some time for her to explain herself. I like the way that Joan proved herself bravely as a female. I think the most important thing is not the differences in , but your views to this really matter. So learn from this story, learn Joan’s braveness and her pureness, and learn to believe yourself, and get rid of all the bad habits and personalities of the characters in this story. We can avoid to be a coward, to be selfish and fatuous. Then every good personality we learn will be a blooming flower in our garden of heart and we’ll live with a life full of fragrantce! Shakspere (wrong spelling) created Hamlet--a man with wisdom and courage .In order to revenge on his uncle for killing his father, he pretented (spelling mistake) to be mad and suffered a series of misery. On the contrary, we can also say that Hamlet is rude and selfish for he did not think twice before his revenge . if (Capitalize "If" since it is the beginning word of the sentence.) a country has no king, how can a country keep alive (You need a question mark here since it is a question.) So, every thing has two sides, the bright side and adumbral side. Every time we make a decision we have to think twice. Comment: Be careful with your spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Too many uncessary mistakes. It is good that you looked at both the dark and bright sides of Hamlet. Thats quite objective and convincing. 名著读后感英文版 英文读后感(7) | 返回目录 as jane eyre, in her plainness and solitude, walks to and fro in the thornfield hall, her unfortunate childhood, conflicting love, and religious forbiddance all cannot stop her seeking a better life and cherishing the human nature. she broke loose the chains that jailed her spirit, and through her struggles she overcame the poverty, customs, social standards, and piety which all blocked her from her dream of happiness, and finally became the master of herself! it could be said that jane's life was earned through retaliation and pursuit, that she fought tooth and nail until the sunlight was won. the sunlight now in her palm, shines brightly unto her! in fact, one has endless thoughts for the most effulgent sunbeam that shines after the storm. i always think in a difficult situation, if and when the hardships of this life is done, if and when the road of time no longer curves, if and when i try my best to walk to the end, will i be able to see the blinding sunlight? for the most important meaning in life is that, struggling through your trials you realize the value of your life, while taking away all the bitter misfortunes. only then will we see the true radiance of the golden sun... trekking through storms running towards the future luminence of the sun shines brightliest in the dark let the difficult journey feel like a luxury the sun in my hand fuels my arduous heart my will to fight is strong facing even the most unattainable heights the sun in my hand even if only after storms mustering all of its heat projects towards me the warmest radiance 查看更多: 老人与海英文读后感_1000字 英文读后感400字范文
